Day 1. May 9th Monday, Indianapolis
Departure from Indianapolis Indiana arrive airport at 9:00 Depart
at noon to Atlanta connecting night flight to New York depart for
Italy at 7:45 approximately 9 hour flight airline all on Delta flights.
Day 2. May 10th
Tuesday
Arrive in Venice 9:00 AM and Take Water Taxi to the Grand
Canal get breakfast and check into the Hotel Saturnia International
for lodging. Late morning into the afternoon go to see
amazing Venetian churches starting with Madonna dell`Orto as
well as Tintoretto’s Scuola de San Rocco and other sites. Prescheduled (reservations) dinner at local restaurant together
then free time/make art time.

May 11th Wednesday, Venice
You are in Venice Italy for breakfast at the Hotel Saturnia
International. See the Academia, more great churches and scuola’s
dinner un-scheduled (no reservations) together then free
time/make art time.

May 12th Thursday, Venice
Awake in Venice breakfast at the Hotel Saturnia International then
go to see Peggy Guggenheim and other sites. Afternoon on your
own in small groups in Venice. Un-scheduled 1st student
responsible dinner (10 euro stipend provided) small groups,
then free time/make art time.
Day 5.
May 13th Friday, Venice to Ravenna
Leaving Venice have breakfast at the Hotel Saturnia then check out
and take the water taxi to a pickup site for a chartered bus. Full
day of sightseeing take the bus to Padua approximately 1 hour trip.
See the Scrovegni Chapel and other sites included with ticket
(pinacotecca) then too the Basilica di Sant’Antonio, get back on
bus continue to Ferrara see Palazzo Schifanoia (room of the
months). This museum can be visited with a combined ticket
including the Museo della Cattedrale, Palazzina Marfisa d'Este and
the Lapidario Civico. Also see Palazzo Diamanti and see the
outside of Castello Estense then onto Ravenna. Check into hotel

Byzantine inspired architecture and city, Museo Nazionale, San
Vitale, Sant’ Apollinare Nuovo, the tomb of Dante, and other sites.
Have dinner un-scheduled (no reservations) together free
time/make art time.

May 15 Sunday, Ravenna to Florence
Open your eyes in Ravenna at the NH Hotel and take bus to
Firenze (Florence) approximately 2 hour trip. Arrive at Hotel
Ambasciatori www.hotelambasciatori.net/ Check into hotel and Half day
of sightseeing at Santa Maria Novella, Galleria dell’ Accademia to
see the Michelangelo’s David, Go to the Duomo, see Giotto’s Bell
Tower, Brunellesci’s Pazzi Chapel, see the baptistery doors by
Ghirberti, and other sights to be determined. Have dinner together
un-scheduled (no reservations) then free time/make art time.

May 16th Monday, Florence
Awake in Firenze, breakfast at the Hotel Ambasciatori go to the,
Duomo, see Giotto’s Bell Tower, Brunellesci’s Pazzi Chapel, see
the baptistery doors by Ghirberti, go to Ponte Vecchio and across
the Arno, Santa Felicita see Jacopo da Pontormo’s The Deposition,
Boboli Gardens Cappella Brancacci see Masaccio’s frescoes, Santa
Spirito and other sites The Bargello and other sites. Pre-scheduled
(reservations) dinner together then free time/make art time.

May 17th Tuesday, Florence
Wake up in Florence breakfast at the Hotel Ambasciatori. Full day
of sight seeing at the Uffizi and the Vasari Corridor, the Piazza
della Signoria go to Santa Croce, San Lorenzo, Cappelle Medicee,
go to open air market and other sites. Pre-scheduled
(reservations) dinner together then free time/make art time.
Day 10. May 18th Wednesday, Florence
Pinch yourself your in Florence eating breakfast at the Hotel
Ambasciatori. Full day of sight seeing in Florence with a stop at
the Galleria dell’Accademeia to see the Michelangelo’s David go
to Santa Maria Novella, Cappelle Medicee and other sites go to

guided sight seeing and shopping around Florence. Meet as a
group in the afternoon for a trip to Piazza Michelangelo for scenic
sunset view and farewell to Firenze. unscheduled (no
reservations) dinner together then free time/make art time.

Day 12. May 20th Friday, Florence to Sienna
Leave Florence breakfast at the hotel Ambascatori then take
charter bus for full day of sight seeing on the way to Siena. Stop at
San Gimignano then on have lunch Stop on the way to Voltera,
spend a few hours then on to Sienna arrive Check into Hotel Alex

Day 15. May 23rd Monday, Sienna to La Romita
Wake up Siena breakfast at the Hotel Alex, half day of sightseeing
in Siena then chartered bus to La Romita. Arrive late afternoon in
La Romita in the Umbrian hills above Terni. Settle in meet the
staff and see the grounds. La Romita will be our base for the next
11 days. Have dinner together then free time/art time.
La Romita schedule to be determined based on events and
opportunities. Places we will and may go include Perugia,
Spoletto, Orvietto Assisi, Todi, Tarquinia, Villa d’ Este, Bomarzo,
Civita di Bagnoregio, Carsulae, Narni, Villa di Gregoriana, Tivoli
and many other Hill Towns and places. La Romita includes all
breakfasts, dinners and some lunches.
