Biographical Note / Historical Note / Administrative History
In 1988, the Office of Multicultural Affairs wanted to make a transition for minorities into Ball State a
little easier. They held their own orientation, and had events such as Friday afternoon movies. By the
middle of the 1990's, the organization was offering retreats and various parties for the minority students.
By 1999, O.M.A. had programs in place like Excel that made the retention rate for minority students
increase significantly.
Scope and Contents
This collection includes administration files from The Office of Multicultural Affairs in Muncie, Indiana
ranging from 1988 to 1999 regarding annual, activity, and budget reports, flyers, and student research
committee minutes.
