Series 1: Ball State Library, World War II films catalogs, 1955-after 1965
Scope and Contents
This series includes catalogs from Ball State Teachers College Library and Ball State University
Libraries describing the collection of World War II films held at the institution. Not all films listed in
these catalogs are included in this collection. Researchers will be interested in the change in descriptive
introductions between the 1955 catalog and the catalog produced after 1965. Those descriptive
modifications reflect changing views of wartime newsreels as propaganda and cautions that were
emphasized for researchers and teachers using wartime newsreels for educational purposes.
