Historical Note
In their original policy guidelines, the Delaware County Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition is
described as "a voluntary association of health professionals and other individuals who commit their time
and resources to a countywide collaborative effort to ensure that mothers and babies in Delaware County
reach the highest achievable level of health and wellbeing." Through numerous outreach programs and
partnerships with other organizations, Delaware County Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies has served the
community since April 22, 1987.
Delaware County Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies has many purposes and goals in the community.
A few of these include: advocating for sound local and state policy decisions, educating community
members about all local services available to help with prepregnancy, pregnancy, and childcare,
promoting community service, and focusing on the importance of comprehensive maternity and infant
health care.
Scope and Contents
This collection includes documents, minutes, publications, newspaper clippings, chairperson records, and
research documents from the Delaware County Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition in Delaware
County ranging from 1980 to 2009 regarding coalition members, activities, and events.
