WEIL ADDS THREE NEW ASSOCIATES IN ITS HOUSTON OFFICE
Houston, November 15, 2012 – International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced the
addition of three new associates in its Houston office: Joseph W. Buoni, Litigation; Ammad Waheed,
Litigation; and Sarah E. Williams, Litigation.
Buoni is a former judicial clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in the chambers of the
Honorable Jennifer Walker Elrod, and for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of Texas for
the Honorable Marvin Isgur. He earned his J.D., with high honors, from The Ohio State University Moritz
College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. Buoni received his B.A., with honors,
from Miami University.
Waheed received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center in May 2012,
where he served as executive chair of Negotiation & Mediation for The Advocates. During law school, he
was a semifinalist in the Hippard Open Mock Trial Competition. In addition, he is a member of the Order
of the Barons and Order of the Coif, and previously served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Gray H.
Miller, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Texas. Prior to law school, Waheed received his
B.A. and B.S., with honors, from the University of Chicago. He is fluent in German, Hindi and Urdu, and is
conversational in Spanish.
Williams served as a judicial clerk in the U.S. District Court’s Eastern District of Texas in the chambers of
the Honorable Marcia A. Crone. She received her J.D., with honors, from the University of Houston Law
Center, where she was a finalist in the 2010 National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition.
Williams received the LEX Award in Constitutional Law and Best Brief Overall at the 2009 National
Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. She received her B.A., with honors, from Southern
Methodist University. Prior to attending law school, Williams worked as a journalist for several
publications, including the Houston Chronicle.
