Teacher Loan Forgiveness
•“Low-income” schools are those schools with
a poverty percentage of at least 30%.
•Each year, the U.S. Department of Education
(USED) publishes a list of low-income
elementary and secondary schools.
•The list of schools for North Carolina is
generated from the annual Eligible Schools
Summary Report (ESSR).
Teacher Loan Forgiveness
**Note: The North Carolina Department of Public
Instruction does NOT make determinations as to
teacher loan forgiveness funding. All questions
about loan reductions need to be made to the
teacher’s loan holder.

questions.

students” based on enrollment
• LEA must agree to provide meals to all
students at no cost
• LEA or SFA must cover costs not provided
in federal meal reimbursement with NONfederal funds
• LEA must NOT use household applications
in CEP schools

• After you have completed the ESSR it will
take 24 to 48 hours to populate in the CCIP

If you find that you need to make changes
after you have submitted – please e-mail me
at allison.yarboro@dpi.nc.gov and ask that I
un-submit your ESSR – Please give the name
of your LEA/Charter School and your unit #

After your make your changes and re-submit
it will take another 24 to 48 hours to re
populate in the CCIP
