From integrated markets that extend business across borders and a continuing trend towards globally-integrated production processes, businesses contend with a diverse set of factors that influence our success in today’s globalized marketplace. To be competitive, we need to broaden our knowledge of currency exchange rates as well as a multitude of regulations and institutional environments to effectively evaluate cross-border financing and investing.
This new six-week summer program set in the beautiful and historic city of Florence, offers you the chance to learn more about the complexities of finance. Participants will earn seven credits in finance, with coursework complemented by visits to local Italian and international firms and other exciting educational excursions.

– Financial Management (3 credits); ECON 422 – Financial
Markets (3 credits); and BUS 120 – Financial Literacy
(1 credit).

Academics
Students can expect to:
• Participate in a full orientation program upon arrival, including a walking tour of
Florence
• Earn 7 credits, including BUS 320; BUS
120; and ECON 422 - Financial Markets
• Engage in two educational excursions, tentatively set for Rome and Cinque Terre
Program Enrollment Requirements
• Marist School of Management major or minor
• Meet all prerequisites for the courses
• Minimum 2.5 GPA
• Applicants must have a sincere desire to learn about Italy, be able to tolerate ambiguity and adjust to different environments, and be respectful of local norms and customs
Housing
Students will stay in apartments at Palazzo
Le Monnier, Marist’s Student Residence in
Florence. The beautiful palace dates from the
15th century.
Meals
Welcome and farewell meals are provided; all other meals are the responsibility of the student.
