M.A. in Educational Psychology–Hybrid

The Master of Arts in Educational Psychology degree at

Marist College meets the New York State requirements for Professional Teaching Certification. Marist College offers an innovative Master of Arts program for teachers with initial certification. The Professional Education Unit at Marist

College is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), www.ncate.org. This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs at Marist College located in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Our goal is to prepare reflective professionals who think critically and work collaboratively to help all students learn.

In recognition of the busy and tightly scheduled lives of professional educators today, the program takes advantage of superior Marist online resources to combine on campus and online courses. There is a campus residence requirement of one extended week in summer sessions, on the beautiful campus in Poughkeepsie, NY, continuing with four weeks online study during the rest of the summer. Fall and Spring semester courses are completely asynchronous online using the Sakai – iLearn system.
