SEMESTER & YEAR ABROAD APPLICATION
Congratulations on taking the first step on an exciting journey! Study Abroad is a unique
opportunity to enhance your education and open your mind. The following information will
help you complete your Marist International Programs Application. Please read carefully and be sure you have
completed all of the necessary steps and paperwork that are part of the application process. Remember that
Marist International Programs is selective, there are limited spaces available so it is important that you put
effort into completing this application. - Good Luck!
ELIGIBILITY
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Students eligible for the Marist International Programs must have:
•
•
•
•
•
class standing of Sophomore or higher
a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better
good judicial standing
approval of academic advisor
submitted this application in full before the application
deadline
Students should note that acceptance into Marist International
Programs (MIP) does not guarantee admission to a specific MIP
program site. Several MIP programs require additional
documentation, have additional applications to be completed or
have other requirements (such as higher GPAs) for admission. For
more details about the requirements of your program of choice
please contact a MIP coordinator.
Meeting the above criteria does not guarantee that an application
has been approved or that a student has been admitted. Approval
is granted on an individual basis and depends on each student's
particular strengths, circumstances, plans, and a review by the MIP
selection committee.
The selection committee may request to interview select
applicants. Applicants selected for the interview process will be
contacted by the Office of International Programs and a date/time
will be coordinated.
PROGRAM SELECTION
Program caps may exist. Students are encouraged to indicate first
and second program choices on the application. If the program
requested is full, a student may be given the option to participate
in the alternate program.
ADDITIONAL APPLICATION MATERIALS
Most programs and universities abroad will require separate
application materials in addition to the MIP Application, including
writing samples, reference letters, or other documents. Applicants
for these programs are urged to be mindful of external deadlines,
some of which occur very quickly after the MIP deadline, as well as
supplemental materials needed. Please contact Marist
International Programs for more information.
