7th Grade Registration Form
2016 – 2017 School Year
Dear Parents/Guardians:
The 2016-2017 class registration process has begun!
The following are required classes for all seventh grade students:
 Language Arts: English
 Social Studies: American Studies  Communications
 Science
 Physical Education / Health
 Math
Allied Arts (Family & Consumer Science / Art / Technology Education) are embedded into the
classes above as a part of authentic learning experiences.
As a STEM Middle School we are excited to offer specialized programming to your child in the
upcoming school year. Please consult our website at www.district196.org/vms/ for a copy of the
Registration Guide with a description of STEM and complete course descriptions.
Please join us January 21 as we host a VMS Registration and Spaghetti Dinner& Carnival
night from 4:00 – 8:00pm.
A registration presentation will be held at 6:15 pm in Lecture Room A.
As a seventh grader at VMSS, your child is afforded two elective classes in his or her schedule.
Below is a listing of the elective classes being offered in 2016-17. Elective classes are full year
commitments that meet on an every-other-day basis and should be chosen carefully.
*NOTE:
- Students must have previously taken Band 6 to sign up for Band 7
- Students are not able to take both Band 7 and Choir 7
Please RANK each class below: 1 being the first choice to 6 being the last choice.
Every effort will be made to place your student in his or her top-raking classes.

Friday, February 5, 2016. Failure to do so will result in the elective class being assigned by
