TO: LEA Superintendents Charter School Administrators FROM: JoAnne Honeycutt, CTE Director Stephen Kelley, CTE Instructional Management Consultant DATE: April 27, 2015 SUBJECT: THINKGATE STATUS (April 2015) It is with great disappointment that the Department of Public Instruction was recently notified that Career and Technical Education’s Instructional Management System vendor, Thinkgate, is in jeopardy of closing. The impact will affect our high school’s Instructional Management System at the classroom, district, and state levels. If this scenario unfolds, current users may lose access to the Thinkgate platform. At this time, we are working on a transition plan and schedule to utilize another system that can/will absorb Career and Technical Education in the long term. More information on this transition will be communicated soon. The department has begun developing contingency plans for this school year, and below are the actions every high school CTE teacher and district level CTE Instructional Management Coordinator should take immediately.
