April 22, 2013 TO LEA Superintendents Career and Technical Education Directors High School Principals High School Counselors Career Development Coordinators FROM Rebecca Garland Career & College Promise Update: Release of CFNC.org CCP Application Process The new Career & College Promise application process will be live at CFNC.org beginning April 24, 2013. This is the application functionality that many of your high school counselors and career development coordinators received training for in February 2013. Whether or not you should plan to use this new application process now is dependent upon two factors - first, whether or not your school has already begun or completed the college application process for the Fall, and second, whether or not your partner community college has decided to use this new electronic process to accept applications from high school students wishing to participate in CCP. We hope that all colleges will use this time-saving and errorreducing electronic procedure, but some may choose to delay their implementation in the short-term. 1. 2. If your students have already started or completed their college application process for CCP, then please do not plan to implement this procedure now. It will be in place and ready for use during the next application round and you can use it at that time, assuming your partner college has completed preparations to accept these applications from CFNC.org. If your partner college has decided not to use this process or has not completed the technical preparations needed to implement it, your students should use the college's existing process until the college is ready for this one. Please keep in mind that if you have students planning on taking courses at more than one partner college, they will have to complete an application for each college. It is possible that one may use this electronic procedure while the other uses an older process, including completion of a paper application. Please coordinate with each community college partner to ensure your students follow the correct procedure for each.
