Who Should Be at the Table?/ Where do you fit in? (10-15 minutes)
RULES
 Build the Tallest Freestanding Structure: The winning team is the one that has the
tallest structure measured from the table top surface to the top of the marshmallow.
That means the structure cannot be suspended from a higher structure, like a chair,
ceiling or chandelier.
 The Entire Marshmallow Must be on Top: The entire marshmallow needs to be on the
top of the structure. Cutting or eating part of the marshmallow disqualifies the team.
 Use as Much or as Little of the Kit: The team can use as many or as few of the 20
spaghetti sticks, as much or as little of the string or tape. The team cannot use the
paper bag as part of their structure.
 Break up the Spaghetti, String or Tape: Teams are free to break the spaghetti, cut up
the tape and string to create new structures.
 The Challenge Lasts 18 minutes: Teams cannot hold on to the structure when the time
runs out. Those touching or supporting the structure at the end of the exercise will be
disqualified.

DREAMING (30-40 MINUTES)
Now think about kids under the age of 5 living in our community. In an
“ideal world” what would you want for these kids? Remember to
concentrate on their health and wellbeing.
•
On the front of a blank sheet of paper (green) jot down your ideas. You can do this with
words, categories, pictures, free writing...whatever is easiest for you! (2 minutes)
•
Working in pairs, I want you to “walk and talk” for 5 minutes about your ideas. (5
minutes)
•
Get in groups of 4-5 and come up with your “top 10” list. (10 minutes)
•
Full Group... Share ideas. (10 minutes)
•
Self-reflection... On the back of your original sheet, revisit your personal ideas on what
an ideal world would include! (2 minutes)

Brief Introductions
WHO SHOULD BE AT THE TABLE?
Look around you! Think about our community! Who do we need to have involved to
achieve success?
• Take 2 minutes to think about this on your own...again, on a clean sheet of paper
(gold).
• Let’s list some of these on the boards, too!
WHERE DO YOU FIT IN?
Please write your name on this sheet!
• Which group(s) would you like to be part of?
• What would you consider to be the key strengths you can contribute to this kind of
effort
• How do you think we can best utilize those strengths?
