My name is Tracy DeRusha and I will be assisting you with the application and registration process for the UW-Stout course, EDUC-727 Supervision of Student Teachers. The class is delivered in an online format. There are no traditional face-to-face meetings. The course will be held during UW-Stout’s summer session. Summer 2016 session begins on Monday, June 13th, 2016 and ends on Sunday, August 7th, 2016. The course content includes an introduction to UW-Stout School of Education’s conceptual framework, assessments, student teaching handbook, roles and responsibilities of a cooperating teacher, expectations of the teacher candidate and licensure requirements such as the edTPA (educative teacher performance assessment). The following information will assist you in returning the required application and registration materials for this course: 1. The tuition is waived upon satisfactory completion of course requirements and submission of the tuition waiver form; however, each student is responsible for purchasing the required course textbook. 2. The required textbook for the course is: Danielson, C. (2007). Enhancing professional practice: A framework for teaching (2nd ed.). Alexandria, VA: Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. This textbook is available for purchase from Amazon.com. 3. If you are a NEW graduate student at UW-Stout, please complete the admission form (PDF version) at this link: http://www3.uwstout.edu/grad/upload/grad_app.pdf. This is an 8-page document, so you may want to read through it online before you print it. The only page you need to print is page 7. Fax the completed form to 715-232-1244. Please be sure to include your social security number on all forms. 4. After you have been accepted to UW-Stout; you will need to activate your Stout email account. Those directions can be found at: http://password.uwstout.edu. 5. After you activate your email account; please contact me so I can share information regarding the next step in the course registration process. 6. Registration for this course is processed by the School of Education (you do not register yourself). Registration is on a first-come/first-served basis. Complete applications will be processed in the order in which they are received. Space is limited. 7. If you are a resident of Minnesota, you need to apply for reciprocity. Complete and submit this online form: http://www.mheso.state.mn.us/hesod/reciprocity/apply1.cfm. 8. Please submit/fax all required forms back to my attention as soon as possible.
