The!Police!Foundation!is!a!national!non;profit!bipartisan!organization!that,!consistent!with!its!
commitment!to!improve!policing,!has!been!on!the!cutting!edge!of!police!innovation!for!over!40!
years.!The!Police!Foundation’s!work!is!informed!by!available!evidence,!to!increase!public!safety!
and!strengthen!communities.!The!!professional!staff!at!the!Police!Foundation!works!closely!with!
law!enforcement,!judges,!prosecutors,!defense!attorneys,!and!victim!advocates,!to!develop!
research,!comprehensive!reports,!policy!briefs,!model!policies,!and!innovative!programs!that!will!
continue!to!support!the!work!of!law!enforcement!(police!&!sheriffs)!personnel.!The!Police!
Foundation!conducts!innovative!research!and!provides!on;the;ground!technical!assistance!to!
police!and!sheriff’s!as!well!as!engages!practitioners!from!multiple!systems!(corrections,!mental!
health,!housing,!etc.),!at!the!local,!state!and!federal!levels!as!it!relates!to!police!research,!policy!
and!practice.$$!
The!Police!Foundation!seeks!a!senior;level!researcher!with!a!strong!track!record!of!conducting!
quantitative!scientific!projects!in!policing.!!The!Senior!Research!Associate!will!lead,!manage,!and!
participate!in!analysis,!research!and!evaluation!projects!related!to!crime,!policing,!and!justice.!
ESSENTIAL+DUTIES+&+RESPONSIBILITIES+
!
!! Serve!as!the!Principal!Investigator!on!assigned!analytic,!research,!and!evaluation!
activities;!
!! Prepare!scholarly!quantitative!and!qualitative!research!products!and!translate!research!products!
for!practitioners,!by!developing!reports!and!making!presentations!to!the!field;!
!! Prepares!mathematical!models,!sample!surveys,!statistical!measurements,!sample!
designs,!quantitative!materials!and!other!documentation!that!supports!research!findings!
and!recommendations;!!
!! Plan!and!conduct!analysis!of!policing!and!related!data,!including!analysis!of!complex!data!
sets!and!operational!data!that!may!require!substantial!preparation;!!
!! Attend!and!make!presentations!at!local!and!national!meetings/conferences;!
!! Design!research!studies,!methodologies,!analysis!plans,!and!carry!out!research!and!
statistical!analysis;!
!! Write!proposals!to!acquire!funding!consistent!with!the!Police!Foundation’s!strategic!
