A section of the application requires the financial aid office to approve you do show financial need. To determine this you must have a 2015-2016 and a 2016-2017 FAFSA on file. Criteria to qualify for summer work study: If you ARE ENROLLED IN AT LEAST 6 HOURS: Summer work study is based on need as determined by the 2015-2016 FAFSA. If you are enrolled in day classes, you cannot work more than 30 hours per week. If you are enrolled in night classes, you cannot work more than 40 hours per week. Summer work study only pays from May 16, 2016 through June 30, 2016. Any work done beginning July 1, 2016 forward will be on a volunteer basis; OR, if you want to continue receiving pay, any compensation from July 1, 2016 forward will count towards your 2016-2017 financial aid awards. This means your fall 16/spring 17 award will be reduced by the amount of the summer work study award you earned from July 1, 2016 through August 16, 2016, so budget accordingly. If you DO NOT ENROLL FOR SUMMER CLASSES (or less than 6 hours): Work study eligibility will be determined by the 2016-2017 FAFSA. Your summer work study award will count towards your fall 16/spring 17 cost of attendance. This means your fall 16/spring 17 award will be reduced by the amount of the summer work study award, so budget accordingly.
