I visited the Eagan Feed My Starving Children Site on January 21st. I talked to the workers there about my
project. They gave me multiple brochures and postcards I could use. they also provided me with contact
information and permission to take footage there. I had my dad take many pictures and videos of our
experience volunteering. I also donated some of my money and had fun exploring the Market Place. Once
we left, I did some research on all the facts and decided to put those into my video as well. Lastly, I talked
to my FCCLA coach about all the relations my project had to FACS.

something so little could help.

Many children all over the world are dying of starvation. 1 in 8 people go hungry every single day. Some
poor kids are even forced to eat mud for food to trick their stomachs into thinking they are eating food.

With all my new footage and information, I could make my video. I put everything together and watched. I
thought it was very persuasive. That was good! I showed all my friends and family my video and it even got
some of my friends aware about the serious problem of starvation. Overall, I am extremely happy with
how my Digital Story turned out. Hopefully everyone who watches it will help Take Action.

The purpose of making my video was to spread awareness. Starvation is a very big
issue and it is affecting many families. People who are very fortunate, like you and me, aren’t
usually aware that while we enjoy our food, some people aren’t getting any. I decided that more
people should realize that change is easy. That they can help mend the issue of starvation by
helping out. That is why I provided the step of Feed My Starving Children. It is a great program
and if more people hear how easy it is to help out through this program, they will.!

In Family and Consumer Science, there are classes on child psychology and family
classes. In these classes, we learn about nutrition a child needs. It’s important for each and
every kid to get special nutrients so that they can grow strong. If these children are starving,
they aren’t growing strong. In FACS classes, we also learn about leadership. People need to
take action and lead others to change. To differences. That is exactly what my project does. My
project also ties to culinary arts classes because there we learn about food. At Feed My
Starving Children, we get to put together food for the starving ourselves. This ties directly to
healthy eating and cooking.!

The purposes of making my project that tie into FACS classes are to give children a
chance to develop and prepare for their higher stages of life. If kids receive the nutrition they
need, they will grow up strong. Also, children being healthy will benefit the whole family.
Parental figures will no longer feel guilty that their child is hungry. Many people who take action
are helping out the while world. They are easily making a difference and changing lives.!

One in 8 people in our world go hungry every single day. This is an unhealthy number.
Many children are forced to trick their stomachs into thinking they are full by eating mud. A very
unhealthy and dirty thing. There are things that should be done about this. And that is exactly
what Feed My Starving Children volunteers act upon.!

The main goal of my project was to get people aware of starvation and to make them
understand that it is super simple for everyone to improve the situation. I have accomplished
this goal because everyone who I’ve shown this video to has inquired about starvation and they
are taking steps toward action. In the process, I also introduced my parents to the issue and
they themselves decided to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children.
