Safety Alert from UMKC Police March 22, 2015 STATEMENT ON CRIMINAL ACTIVITY The UMKC Police Department was contacted by the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Sunday. The KC police are conducting an investigation into a shooting that occurred at 25th & Harrison Streets. The suspect left the scene driving eastbound on 25th Street in a truck. No description of the vehicle was available. The victim was transported to Truman Medical Center. As a result of the investigation, the parking lot at 24th Terrace and 25th Street and the lot at Troost Avenue and Charlotte Street were blocked off Sunday night. Description: Suspect: African American male, 5’4” 160 lbs. with long, dark braids, wearing a sweatshirt.
