 Revision Process Outline ●

Using the new standards, revision teams outline revised course into modules and create a Standards Mapping Document
for the course. Using the
Course Outline Template
, revision Teams outline the following for each unit: ○ Lessons ○ Standards ○ 21st Century Connections ○ Collaborative Project (if applicable) Revision Teams divide work into "chunks" and works with Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) staff member to create timeline due dates. Revision Teams outline Modules based on the
NCVPS Course Structure Outline
and complete the
Module PrePlanning Document

for the first module to be revised. This planning document will be reviewed by the content reviewer and the Moodle team member. ●
●
●
●
Revision Team members analyze their assigned lessons. Some lessons in the old course may be adequate, while others may not meet the NCVPS instructional design standards. You will need to review the old content closely and make revisions to the content in order to bring it up to the design and accessibility standards/guidelines. To determine if the content meets NCVPS instructional design standards, the following documents may be used:
NCVPS Course Quality Rubric
and
Moodle Accessibility Guidelines

and
Accessibility Examples. If you determine the content does not meet the design standards with minor revisions, you may need to consider developing the content from scratch. Once the lesson has been analyzed, development begins. Revision team members will follow the NCVPS Course Development Training to revise and/or develop the lesson content according to NCVPS instructional design standards. The
Development Checklist can be used to ensure all aspects of the training are followed. ●
●
Revision Team members develop content according to the agreed upon timeline. Revision Team members should include direct instruction along with supporting instruction for each lesson. Each lesson should have a teacher created instructional aid that engages the learner. Every lesson should also have a formative assessment, practice, and assignments in order to scaffold learning. ●
●
●
Once the content has been developed, the content reviewer and the Moodle team member will review the content and offer revision suggestions. A feedback document will be used to record suggestions and revisions. The timeline should be followed for the review. ●
●
●
●
Revision team members will make suggested revisions and document the changes on the feedback document. Once the content has been revised, the Moodle Team member will then finalize any formatting issues, upload all documents, videos, images, etc to the NCVPS server, and document all websites used in the course. He or she will work with the NCVPS staff on any technical issues. As the Moodle team member is formatting the module, he or she will contact the developers if any issues or concerns still exist. This final formatting phase is another final quality check for the content. The Content Reviewer will make sure all timeline due dates are met, reviews are completed, and revisions are made. If any concerns arise, the content reviewer will work with the team’s Curriculum Instructional Leader (IL) to resolve any issues. The IL will ●
keep the Division Director , Curriculum Director and Curriculum Coordinators informed of any conflicts, questions, or concerns as they occur. This process will continue for each module. ●
●
When the revisions are complete, there will be a final quality check and approval process by the Curriculum staff to ensure that all documentation is in place (course requirements, prerequisites, url list, syllabus, etc). The final course will also be made available to the Instructional Leader, Course Lead, and/or eLC team for review before course copies are made.
