AS4 Assignment: Modernizing
Create a graphic presentation about China's efforts to modernize their country.
Limit your material to changes that have occurred since 1949 and continuing to modern-day.
Create a PowerPoint or other graphic presentation such as a video or Prezi to show off their
modernization. Use approximately 14 – 15 slides or something of equal length in another
format to show your points.

Some elements to include in your presentation (but not limited to this list)

communication infrastructures – example cell phone coverage

transportation improvements – example high-speed trains

increased availability of technology – example the Tianhe-1A one of the fastest
supercomputers in the world

efforts to improve the world's view of China - the Olympics

Your project should include at least 25 graphic images about modernization in China.

Each of your images should have a brief description of what your graphic stands for and how it is
a symbol of modernization.

On the 2nd to last page of your project you will write a paragraph explaining how successful you
feel China has been in her modernization efforts.

On the final page write another paragraph describing at least one way in which you think they
could do even better. Explain your answers completely.
