1. You will do some research into an important environmental issue confronting different areas of
Africa. Select 1 of the issues listed below to research.







Soil erosion
Water pollution
Toxic waste
Air pollution
Acid rain
Waste management
Endangered species/wild-life management
For the issue you select you will provide the following information:
a. What is the issue?
b. What area of Africa is it impacting?
c. Write a 3 – 4 sentences description of what is happening environmentally.
d. Write a 3 – 4 sentences description of what impact it is having on the people of the region.
e. List at least 2 URLS where you found your information.
2. Now you are going to go on an exploration of Africa by taking a journey on this continent. At each
location you will write the following information:
a. The country you’re in (note: some places like the Red Sea will include multiple countries, list
the other countries, but only focus on the first one you list for the rest of the information about
this location)
b. The primary language spoken (note: many countries will have more than one language
spoken, you should list only the languages spoken by most people (for example if you were
writing about Canada you’d list English and French)
c. At least one interesting thing about this place.
