SPEECH 1 – INFORMATIVE SPEECH
Select a topic that will make an effective speech. The topic should be interesting to both you and the audience.
Be creative and be appropriate. Use the information in Chapter 13 to help prepare your material. Read the
Speech Development and Oral Presentation Rubrics on the final page of this syllabus.

SPEECH 2 – PERSUASIVE SPEECH
Select a topic that concerns you and your audience. Clearly identify your topic to the audience and then
effectively persuade them to see your point of view. This is not an informative speech, though you will use
information to sway your listens to your side. Use the information in Chapter 14 to help prepare your
material. Read the Speech Development and Oral Presentation Rubrics on the final page of this syllabus.
