David D. Miles, Director of Bands A 1995 graduate of the old Fort Collins High School, David D. Miles is entering his seventh year teaching instrumental music. He directs the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Intermediate Band, Select Stage Band (Big Band), Marching Band, Pep Band and teaches History of Rock and Roll. Mr. Miles earned his Bachelor of Music (Music Education) from Colorado State University and returned to CSU for his Masters of Music (Instrumental Conducting). Mr. Miles taught part time at Thompson Valley High School, in Loveland, Colorado before spending the next three years as Band Director at Woodland Park High School in Woodland Park, Colorado. He then taught band at Windsor Middle School in Windsor, Colorado before joining the staff at Fort Collins High School. This is Mr. Miles’ third year as a member of the Lambkin staff. Mr. Miles has performed with the John Phillip Sousa National High School Honor Band, the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra, the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Brass, and the Colorado Brass Company. He currently performs with the Fort Collins Wind Symphony under the director of Steve McNeal and the Simply Brass Quintet (http://www.simplybrassquintet.com/index.html). David, his wife Amanda and their son Elliot live in Fort Collins.
