RECOGNIZING: That the Northern Iowa Student Government is committed to serving the
needs of the student body at the University of Northern Iowa; and
FURTHER RECOGNIZING: The Northern Iowa Student Government hires a Director of
LGBT* Affairs to reach out to all LGBT* student and LGBT* student organizations at UNI to
ensure their needs are being met by the University and NISG, as well as to represent their needs,
ideas, and concerns within NISG; and
FURTHER RECOGNIZING: That Mr. Tesdall is a highly motivated student leader with a
passion for representing LGBT* students and spreading awareness about the LGBT*
community; and
FURTHER RECOGNIZING: That Mr. Tesdall has an extensive background in working with
the UNI LGBT* community as an ally within the LGBT* Center, as well as in representing the
LGBT* community throughout several other areas of the University; and
FURTHER RECOGNIZING: That Mr. Tesdall can use this extensive background and various
ideas to define and grow the role of the NISG Director of LGBT* Affairs; and
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED: that Drake Tesdall is appointed to the position of Director
of LGBT* Affairs under the Gartman-Andersen Administration.
