Abstract: We determine the leptonic decay constants fDs and fD in 2 + 1 flavor lattice QCD. We compute them in the partially quenched theory and use
Staggered Chiral Perturbation Theory to fix the low energy constants needed to
obtain fD . We study several lattice spacings to estimate the continuum limits.
