Gauge Action Effects on 3 Flavor QCD with Domain Wall Fermions Presenter: Robert Mawhinney Robert Mawhinney for the RBC and UKQCD collaborations Abstract: We have explored the effects of gauge actions composed of plaquette and rectangle terms on the properties of domain wall fermions for 3 flavor QCD. In particular, we find that for coarse lattices with a−1 ∼ 1.6 GeV, moderate decreases in mres , for a given Ls , can be achieved by making the rectangle coefficient more negative. We discuss the general physics features in this plaquette plus rectangle parameter space and their implications for choosing a gauge action for large scale simulations 1
