You DO NOT need to check out a textbook for this course.
This course does NOT use D2L
BRING YOUR LAPTOP to the first day of class.
Be there on Day 1: There will be a quiz and software registration.
A few details about the first day of class:
You MUST attend the first class session on Tuesday, January 19th, because:

Some sections of the course are filled to capacity with waiting lists.
Anyone who misses the first day of class risks being administratively dropped from the course to
open a slot for someone on the waiting list.
 There will be an online quiz covering syllabus items on the first day of class.
These points cannot be made up if you do not attend the first class.
(A syllabus will be handed out at the first class session and can be used for the quiz.)
 You’ll also be taking a brief 8-question, paper-and-pencil quiz on basic math skills in class on this
first day. This quiz won’t count for points, but will be taken again the following week and will count
for points then. If you want to see what this quiz will look like, check this link:
http://www.uwstout.edu/mathtlc/Gateway-Quiz-Learning-Resources.cfm
 We will be using an online software package for which you will receive an access code packet at
the first class meeting allowing you to register on-line while following step-by-step instructions from
your instructor. Missing the first class will put you behind schedule immediately, since you’ll
need to be registered in the software to do the syllabus quiz and submit homework
assignments.
