WHO-TV, IA 12-04-07 Dueling Polls Show Different Leaders December 4, 2007--In less than a month, the Iowa Caucuses will kick off the 2008 presidential nominating process. Right now, it could be anybody's race, with two separate polls showing different front runners. A Des Moines Register poll puts Barack Obama ahead of Hillary Clinton, with John Edwards a close third. But a new Iowa State University poll shows Clinton with a seven-point lead over Edwards and Obama 11-points behind. The Iowa State poll has a six-percent margin of error. The poll confusion continues on the republican side. The Des Moines Register poll shows Mike Huckabee leading Mitt Romney by five-percent, with Rudy Giuliani a distant third. But the ISU poll shows Romney leading Huckabee, and Giuliani still in third.
