The FairTax campaign first hosts a FairTax program at 10:30 a.m. at Stephens Auditorium on the straw poll grounds at the sports complex at Iowa State University. Iowa Representative Steve King, Representative John Linder (FairTax legislative sponsor), talk show star Neal Boortz, noted FairTax advocate and celebrity Herman Cain, and FairTax.org's Ken Hoagland will preview winning video "commercials" by Iowans recently taped during a 25-city FairTax bus tour. A winner will be picked later in the day. Plenty of food and FairTax gear will be available. Presidential candidates have been invited to meet with FairTaxers at this event. Later, national talk show host and FairTax advocate and author Neal Boortz holds a book signing party at the FairTax tent (under the "Dare To Be Fairest Wheel" and FairTax hot air balloon) from noon until 2:00 p.m. The first 500 Iowans attending the book signing will be given free copies of the best seller "The FairTax Book," courtesy of FairTax.org At 2:30 p.m. the main FairTax rally begins at the air-conditioned FairTax tent with Boortz, Cain, Hoagland, Rep. King, and Rep. Linder and more food, music, and entertainment as well as the unveiling of the FairTax video $1000 grand prize winner. Past FairTax rallies have had the audience on their feet as the FairTax "family" of thousands of supporters rallied for this needed wholesale replacement of the income tax system.
