Server Hosting Request
Telecommunications and Networking provides a server hosting service for departmental needs. These
servers will reside in the University’s Datacenter. T&N will perform backups, manage operating system
upgrades and patches, and coordinate the resolution of hardware and/or software problems. If applicable, a
designee within your department will provide the support of applications or databases.
All new server requests and/or changes to existing servers will be performed during the maintenance
periods of winter or summer break. All requests for new servers or changes to existing hosted servers
must be received sixty days prior to one of the predefined maintenance periods. All hardware, software
and licensing must be obtained and delivered thirty days prior to one of the predefined maintenance
periods.
The procurement of hosted servers will be done under the direction of the T&N Server Team. Servers will
be housed and supported for the duration of the server’s support life cycle at which time they will need to
be replaced. Existing servers cannot be transitioned to the T&N hosting service. Virtual Servers can be
provided at an annual rate paid.
Please fill out the following form and submit it to Telecommunications and Networking’s Server Team at
which time they will review your request and respond to you within 10 business days. For consultation or
assistance with the form, please email tnst@uwstout.edu to request an appointment. A member of the
server team will contact you to schedule a meeting to discuss your needs.
