Professional and Scientific Council
2001-2002
Iowa State University's more than 2,000 Professional and Scientific
(P&S) staff members are a highly-motivated, well-educated human
resource. Nearly half of these professionals have master's, doctoral,
or professional degrees. P&S staff members have a substantial
impact on the quality of service the university provides, the
efficiency with which it operates, and the structure it attains.
Through their activities in instruction, research, extension, and
professional service, P&S staff play a significant role in helping the
university fulfill its mission of learning, discovery, and engagement.
P&S Council Mission Statement:
The P&S Council serves as a resource and as an advocate for P&S
employees. The Council identifies and communicates the needs of its
constituents, provides information and advice in response to those
needs, and recommends to the administration policies and
procedures that benefit P&S employees and assist in fulfilling the
mission of the university.
