UF faculty to
receive a 2003
Doctoral Dissertation Advisor/
Mentoring Award
from UF’s Office
Bill Chamberlin
of Research and
Graduate Programs. Chamberlin and
the other four UF faculty were recognized for their “dedication to the
support of graduate education and
sponsorship of student research.” The
recognition includes a $3,000 pre-cash
award to each faculty member and
$1,000 for each faculty member to use
to support his/her graduate students.

To Linda Correll, whose ADV 4101 Copy and Visualization students
wrote commercials that swept the Missouri Broadcast Educators’ Student
Competition in the Audio Commercial Division. This is the third year in a
row that UF students have swept the Missouri competition. Southeast
Missouri State University’s radio students, under the direction of Bruce
Mims, provided production assistance.
Special congratulations to student Aimee Sable, whose commercial for Red
Bull captured First Place. The ad also received a Gold ADDY in the
Gainesville Ad Federation Student ADDY Competition.
ADDY AWARDS
Congratulations to Linda Correll and Elaine Wagner who had two winning
entries in the 2003 AAF District Four (Gainesville Advertising Federation)
ADDY Awards. Correll and Wagner’s poster for Seekonk (MA) Congregational Church was runner up to “Best of Show” in the Public Service Category and received a Silver ADDY. The local campaign for Seekonk Congregational Church, “Triumph of the Spirit” poster, postcard and program,
also received a Silver ADDY in the Public Service Category. Both entries
advance to the regional ADDY Competition.
