FBDSGDUPEN GeneDisc® Ultra-Purifier Easy, Rapid and Highly-Efficient Instrument for DNA Purification Features Benefits Computer-assisted purification protocol Reduce hands-on time Process up to 48 DNA samples simultaneously Flexible throughput fits testing needs Part of a complete ‘sample to result’ analytical tool Increase test range progressively Flexible device setting Increase user comfort while running Minimal footprint Easily integrate and relocate device Description Operation Sequence The GeneDisc system is a complete, rapid, reliable and easyto-use solution for microbial testing in three simple steps from sample to result. After samples are extracted with the GeneDisc Ultra-Lyser, the DNA may be purified by utilizing the GeneDisc Ultra-Purifier. Extracted and purified DNA is then loaded into a GeneDisc Plate designed for specific detection and/or quantification of microorganisms of interest. The GeneDisc Plate is then placed into the GeneDisc Cycler for analysis. The analysis step by real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) runs in as little as an hour and the final results are displayed with no further operator intervention. Purification of DNA Samples For specific applications, such as quantification of Legionella in complex waters, DNA purification is a key step of sample preparation. DNA purification enables: Step 1: After cell lysis*, transfer lysate to silica column for DNA binding using multichannel pipette provided. • To reduce PCR inhibitions due to organic compounds from samples • To achieve highly accurate results. The GeneDisc Ultra-Purifier ensures high quality DNA purification based on the technology of DNA molecules adsorption to silica and solvent washings. This protocol, applied to GeneDisc methods for Legionella, was validated by NF VALIDATION against NF T90-471 and ISO /TS 12869 standards. Thus, sample preparation for GeneDisc method provides purified DNA samples with a high recovery rate, ideal for quantitative applications. Step 2: Proceed to DNA washings. Step 3: Elute DNA molecules. DNA extracts are now purified and ready to be processed. Transfer them to the GeneDisc Plate and analyze using the GeneDisc Cycler. * Lysis tube rack is supplied with GeneDisc Ultra-Lyser. 2 Technical Specifications Ordering Information Physical Dimension Description Part Number GeneDisc Ultra-Purifier EGDUP1A Weight Dimensions (Height x WIdth x Depth) 10 kg (22 lb) 318 x 259 x 363 mm (12.5 x 10.2 x 14.3 in) References Electrical Data Electrical voltage 100-240 V AC Maximum current Power consumption 2.5 A 600 W NF T 90-471 standard: Water quality—Detection and quantification of Legionella and/or Legionella pneumophila by concentration and genic amplification by real time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) ISO /TS 12869 standard: Water quality — Detection and quantification of Legionella spp. and/or Legionella pneumophila by concentration and genic amplification by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) Operating Conditions Temperature Relative Humidity 5 °C to 40 °C ( 41 °F to 104 °F) 10% to 95%, non-condensing Usage Conditions Temperature 15 °C to 30 °C ( 59 °F to 86 °F) www.pall.com/genedisc 3 GEN 25/03 – 12/07 GEN 25/04 – 12/07 ANALYTICAL METHODS FOR WATER www.afnor-validation.com Visit us on the Web at www.pall.com/genedisc Pall GeneDisc Technologies 25 Harbor Park Drive Port Washington, NY 11050 +1 516 484 3600 telephone +1 866 905 7255 toll free US genedisc@pall.com International Offices Pall Corporation has offices and plants throughout the world in locations such as: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Venezuela.
