Admission Criteria
 Program Director Approval.
 Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.0



Applied Science
Program Director approval.
You must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and a grade of
C or higher for all math and computer science courses already taken.
Completion of Math 121 – Introductory College Mathematics II (or transfer
equivalency) is required to be admitted.
First semester freshmen must rank in the top 50 percent of their class (or
for high schools that do not rank, earn a cumulative grade point average of
at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale), have a minimum ACT composite score of 22
(or SAT equivalent), and a minimum ACT math score of 22 (or SAT
equivalent).




Program Director Approval.
Student must have completed Math 120 or higher.
Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.0
Students that do not meet all of the requirements can be accepted as PreApplied Science

goals/interests, such as Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, etc. should also complete

Applied Social Science




Art Education

Program Director approval is needed for admittance as a pre-education
major.
Business Administration


Program Director approval.
2.5 cumulative GPA. If GPA is under 2.5, they can be “intent” or “Pre”
Business.
Career Technical Education
and Training
(Distance Education only)



Program Director approval.
Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.5
Student acknowledges that completion of the CTET program makes an
individual certifiable in the Wisconsin Technical College System and
requires 8 credits of student teaching or a training internship.
Applicants should be aware that program courses may be delivered faceto-face, online, weekends, or using a combination of delivery methods.
A minimum of 32 credits of the individual’s program must be UW-Stout
courses.



Computer Engineering


Program Director Approval.
Students not meeting at least one of the requirements below can be
accepted as Pre-Computer Engineering.
 At least ONE of the following NUMBERED requirements must be met for
full admission into the Computer Engineering degree.
1. Both “Test A “ and “Test B” are satisfied:
 Test A Student must have a Composite ACT score of 22 or higher, OR
student must be in the upper 40% of their high school graduating
class.
 Test B Student must have an ACT Math sub score of 22 or higher.
2. Student has transferred credits or taken EITHER of the following Calculus
courses and received a grade of “B” or better (Note: a grade of B- is not
sufficient):
 MATH 153 Calculus I OR MATH 156 Calculus and Analytic Geometry I
Construction
3. Student has transferred credits or completed the following sequence of
courses with a grade point of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher (must have all
courses in this sequence):

students have not taken Math 120 and CHEM 135 at time of change, they
will be considered Pre-dietetics until those requirements are met.
If continuing student and they have not completed Math 120, CHEM 135
and BIO 234, they will be considered Pre-dietetics until those requirements
are met.


Engineering Technology


Program Director approval is needed for admittance as a pre-education
major.
On campus applicants MUST see Jill Klefstad, 117 Heritage Hall, and it
needs to be noted on form before it will be approved.




Students applying to Entertainment Design will need to submit a minimum
of five (5) and a maximum of ten (10) high quality photographs or digital
scans of your original art works submitted in either JPEG or TIFF format on
a CD or flash drive.
 A list of works should be included in your digital portfolio. Include the
title, size, medium, project description and date for each artwork.




In addition, students need to:
Complete the School of Art & Design (BFA) Major Application (Advisement
Center – Room 11 Bowman Hall). A 2.5 GPA is required in all Art, Design
and Art History courses.
Submit a Personal Essay: A personal essay of 300-500 words must
accompany your application. Discuss the major reasons and influences
leading you to pursue your undergraduate work relative to a specific BFA
Art/Design major.

community and how your chosen field will impact culture in the future.

Students will need to submit a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of ten
(10) high-quality, high-resolution photographs, digital scans, or renders of
your original art. Works are to be submitted in JPEG format and saved onto
a CD or flash drive. No prints necessary.




Program Director approval.
Student must meet ALL of the requirements in either Option 1 or Option 2
listed below for full admission into the Game Design and Development
program:
Option 1:
 Student must rank in the top 40 percent of their class (or for high
schools that do not rank earn a cumulative grade point average of at
least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale)
 Minimum ACT composite score of 23 (or SAT equivalent)
 Minimum ACT math score of 24 (or SAT equivalent)
Option 2:

credits, and completion of a minimum of 54 credits in the B.S. Supply
Chain Management Program Plan Sheet.

Students will be admitted into the Pre-Supply Chain Management program
until the above requirements are met. At that time, the student may apply
for admission into the B.S. Supply Chain Management degree program.
