You may shorten the legs to calf length if you wish. (b) Make up the pants/trousers in a fabric of your choice. Using the carbonised sheets to make a duplicate copy, write out a shopping list of the requirements for completing the pants/trousers, giving an alternative for fabric, width and colour. (c) State four reasons for your first choice of fabric. (d) Please state your pattern size on the shopping list. The pattern should be divided for use in the Preparation Session. (e) Hand in the carbon copy of the shopping list, the pattern and the question paper to the Supervisor. [Total: 8] 2 Preparation Session (2 hours) The pattern and requirements for the test will be handed to you by the Supervisor. Carry out the following work: (a) (i) (ii) Adjust the pattern in any way you think necessary to achieve a good fit. If there are no alterations answer the following question: How would you alter the pattern to extend it to the natural waistline? (b) Plan the layout for the pants/trousers and cut out the pieces you require, including lining and the interfacing. (c) Mark the necessary fitting lines and balance points. (d) Assemble the pants/trousers for a fitting. (e) Any remaining time may be used to prepare the patch or cargo pocket and facings with interfacing. Note You are to complete the preparation of the pocket and facings (tacking/basting only) after the Preparation Session in readiness for use in the Examination Session.
