You won’t be able to place a hold request if
You have not signed in to Search
You have an overdue item or fines
The item is on Reserve or is a restricted loan
The item is not for loan, e.g. an item in Reference, Rare Books or in a
restricted collection

Generally 2 – 3 working days
Items from the Offsite Store
May take up to 1 week to arrive
Items on loan
Once returned, these will be delivered to your nominated pickup location as
soon as possible
Items on order
The time varies but it may take up to 6 months for an item to be delivered to
the Library – check with Library staff
Items being processed or catalogued
Once a hold is placed these are processed as quickly as possible

All libraries have open hold shelves where you can collect your hold and
borrow at a Loans terminal. At some libraries, kits, DVDs, videos and
Document Delivery items are held at a service point

Requests are generally cancelled because
The hold wasn’t collected within seven days
Copies were available at the pickup location
The hold request expired before the item became available
Please contact Library staff for more information
If the item is on the shelf at your pickup location, you are expected to retrieve
it your self
