For use by residents with cars, trailers or LDVs (total carrying capacity not exceeding 1,5 tons)
1. Conditions of use for drop-off sites (free of charge)
a)
Garage waste:
Any household waste other than clean garden waste, clean builders’ rubble or domestic waste
from residential properties.
Maximum vehicle carrying capacity: 1,5 tons. Separated and contained.
Frequency: Up to one load per day per residence.
b) Clean garden waste:
Vegetation generated by gardening activities on properties zoned for residential or domestic
purposes. In bags/bundles no longer than 1,2 m in length and not exceeding 60 mm in cross section.
Maximum vehicle carrying capacity: 1,5 tons.
Frequency: Three loads per day per residence and per garden service company
c) Clean builders’ rubble:
Waste consisting of broken bricks, sand, stone, cement, plaster and similar materials, excluding
paper, plastic, wood, glass, metal and hazardous waste
Maximum vehicle carrying capacity: 1,5 tons.
Frequency: One load per residence per day.
However, at the discretion of the Executive Director and
based on operational prerogatives the number of loads
per day may be increased to a maximum of three.
d) Recyclable materials:
Maximum vehicle carrying capacity: 1,5 tons.
Frequency: Unlimited
e) Kitchen waste:
Not accepted at drop-off sites

Closed on the following public holidays:
Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
4. Enquiries for disposal sites, transfer stations
and compost plants
Disposal head office: 021 487 2477
Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 16:00
Larger volumes of waste (garage waste, clean
garden waste, clean builders’ rubble) as well as
domestic waste can be disposed of at Council
disposal sites at the approved tariff rates.
