From SAP to Web-DET
“The SAP has already been valuable in identifying needs for better effort in Forest Stewardship
Program implementation and where to focus
future efforts.”
Jim DiMaio,
Massachusetts State Forester and pilot project partner
“We are using the SAP in workload planning,
looking to the future to determine the right mix
of resources and staff.”
Bob Krepps,
Missouri State Forester and pilot project partner
Web-DET is an extension of SAP that is designed to
continuously maintain the Forest Stewardship plan geodatabase and keep an ongoing record of associated forest
management activities. WebDET is a Web-based Forest
Stewardship plan data entry tool and accomplishment
reporting tool for the field foresters who are delivering
the Forest Stewardship Program to private landowners.
With WebDET, field foresters can:
• Create maps
• Create Forest Stewardship Plans
• Maintain a geodatabase of Forest Stewardship plans
and recommended activities
• Report State and Federal accomplishments on time
“The SAP has given us a tool to analyze resource
information in a way we haven’t been able to do
before.”
Steve Koehn,
Maryland State Forester and pilot project partner
