Local/ state outreach
The candidate is a faculty member of Arizona Cooperative Extension, College of Agriculture and
Life Sciences, whose responsibilities include outreach educational programs.
National outreach
In my 5 years at the University of Arizona, I have been actively engaged in collaboratively
developing and implementing multi-state (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and
Wyoming) outreach programs that have importance at the national level. My Arizona specific
research/outreach programs (e.g. Water quality, Regulation and Policy) have produced results
that are directly applicable to other states and have implications at the national level.
I have made invited and selected presentations of research papers based on my research/outreach
efforts at Universities including University of Chicago and Stanford University, and
conferences/meetings of the national professional organizations including the Agricultural and
Applied Economics Association, the Western Agricultural Economics Association, Western
Economics Association, North American Econometric Society meeting, National Extension
Conferences, and Northeast Universities Development Consortium (NEUDC) Conference.
International outreach

My international outreach has been in the form invited presentations, selected papers, and
through participation in international conferences/meetings in countries including
Belgium, Finland, Germany, India, Ireland, South Africa and Singapore.

Member, Arizona Community Vitality Initiative (AZCVI), 2004-present:
Arizona Cooperative Extension has a working group and state-wide initiative
network called Arizona Community Vitality Initiative (AZCVI). This network of
campus and county based faculty was formed in 2002 to build capacity in the
Arizona Extension System in community development processes and skills. Since
2002 we have worked with over 15 local community development projects
ranging from economic development in a small rural community to developing an
agriculture education center to building leadership in youth to address a local
issue with the state legislature.

Member, Arizona Electronic Atlas Advisory Board:
Arizona Electronic Atlas is university-wide innovative effort to provide an
interactive atlas with the ability to create, manipulate, and download accurate and
current maps and data. The Atlas receives approximately 210 visits per day and is
used by a wide variety of Arizona residents. The project is led by Christine Kollen
(Social Sciences Librarian) and Jeanne Pfander (Science-Engineering Librarian),
University of Arizona.
