Specify color negative or color infrared film for all recurrent resource photography
at the option of the Forest Supervisor. Forest Supervisors shall follow procedures
for approvals in accordance with FSH 7109.13a, Geometronics Handbook, section
211 by October 30 in the same fiscal year noted for the forest listed in the above
schedule.
The Regional Office Engineering Staff shall prepare budget estimates for the aerial
photography in accordance with current program planning and budget
requirements and schedules. Base the cost estimate on obtaining 1:24,000 scale
natural color coverage with two sets of color prints and the ASCS contract
administrative fee. Regional Office funding is based on this amount. If the Forest
selects a different scale or type of photography, or more than two sets of prints, or
prints to be laminated, the additional cost must be programmed by the Forest.
Refer to the Utility Guide for Aerial Photography for consideration of options and
completion of the aerial photography planning worksheet that is to accompany the
Forest request for approvals.
The Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) Aerial
Photography Field Office in Salt Lake City, Utah, has responsibility for
procurement and printing of aerial photography for all USDA agencies. Designate a
member of the Geometronics Group to work closely with ASCS on administration of
each contract.
7149.2 - Map Pricing Procedures.
3. Map Discount. Organizations allowed the 25 percent discount include any
non-profit party, firm or group, including interpretive associations. The purchaser
may select any combination of maps of equal value totaling 100 purchased at one
time. With the exception of maps sold at Forest Service facilities, maps purchased
at the discounted rate may be resold at prices determined by the purchaser.
7149.3 - National Map Sales Price List.
Charge the following for maps sold at any Forest Service location in Region 2:
Paper primary base series quadrangle map - $3.00
(including topographic or planimetric)
Plastic Forest Visitor or Wilderness map - $6.00
Paper Forest Visitor or Wilderness map - $3.00
Paper Travel maps - $1.00
Sell GPO 1974-781-699, for $3.00 each, because of the many past and pending land
ownership changes since the Nebraska Buffalo Gap National Grassland map was
published. Do not sell the 1974 editions to the public when new edition is received.
Sell the new map for the price referred to above.
