Activities to be funded with K-V funds will be identified in the Sale Area Improvement Plan (WR-2400-50) during Gate 4 of the timber sale planning process. These activities shall be documented in the corresponding NEPA document. 1b. Activities or proposed projects shall be noted in NEPA documentation as opportunities, mitigation measures, design criteria, conservation practices, and monitoring requirements or included in appendices such as silvicultural prescriptions. 04 – RESPONSIBILITY 04.23a – Interdisciplinary Teams 1a. Resource Specialists shall assist the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and responsible line officer by recommending mitigation, protection, and improvement needs within the Sale Area boundary and document these recommendations as input to the environmental analysis process. 1b. Specific project proposals shall be documented by resource specialists on a K-V project proposal input form. Information provided will include the type of project, location, and estimated costs for each project proposal. Proposed projects will be ranked by order of importance by the IDT prior to completion of Gate 2. 2a. Resource specialists shall provide resource input, which addresses the economic efficiency of implementing projects as compared to environmental consequences for meeting mitigation, protection and improvement needs within the sale area. 5a. Resource specialists shall assist the responsible line officer in the review and revision of SAI plans as requested prior to sale closure.
