TITLE 2800 - MINERALS AND GEOLOGY
2850.43 - Authorized Officers
District Rangers are delegated authority to conduct sales and issue free use permits
for mineral materials up to the maximum amounts indicated in 36 CFR 228,
Subpart C.
A break-down of the administrative costs will be included in the mineral materials
appraisal reports prepared for each 2800-9 contract. These costs will be shown in a
section following the mineral materials valuation.
When the contractor qualifies for a fee waiver, only that portion of the fee
associated with the mineral materials will be waived. The permittee will still be
billed for the Forest Service administrative costs. These costs will be shown on
Form 2800-9 as the fee in these cases.
