Also provides standards for the certification of construction plans and the completed construction/reconstruction project. PNF SUPPLEMENT: 2700-87-10 EFFECTIVE DATE: April 1987 DURATION: This supplement is effective until superseded or removed. 2716 Page 2 of 4 FSM 2700 – SPECIAL USES MANAGEMENT 2716 - ADMINISTRATION OF PERMITS The Forest adopts the current edition of the following codes for the construction, reconstruction and structural alteration of all facilities authorized by a Special Use Permit. 1. Uniform Building code (including appendices). 2. Uniform Mechanical Code. 3. Uniform Plumbing Code. 4. National Fire Codes (all volumes which include the National Electrical Code and the Life Safety Code). 5.*Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry 29 CFR 1910. 6.*Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards AHSI A117.1 - 1980. *Generally, Standards 5 and 6 do not apply to privately owned summer homes. The codes cited above do not apply to existing facilities unless specifically required by the codes(s). DESIGN REQUIREMENTS - Drawings and specifications shall be prepared or certified by a State Licensed Architect, Engineer or International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO) certified inspector for all improvements that are constructed, reconstructed or structurally altered. The installation of wood stoves and fireplaces will require identical plan preparation/certification. INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS - All construction, reconstruction, structural alterations and wood stove/fireplace installations shall be inspected by a licensed architect, engineer, contractor or ICBI certified building inspector. The inspector will inspect and certify that all authorized construction, reconstruction, structural alteration and wood stove or fireplace installations comply with the approved plans, specifications and the applicable codes. Minor non-structural changes or deviations from the approved plans may be approved by the District Ranger provided the plans are modified to reflect changes and adequate documentation is contained in the file to reflect the District Ranger's concurrence. SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS - Plans, specifications and certification statements will be submitted, in triplicate, to the District Ranger. Permit amendments will incorporate and reference all plans, specifications and certification statements. Design Certification and the Construction Certification will be per attached exhibits.
