Prepare an entry certificate signed by the supervisor in charge
that verifies the space is safe for entry.
Sample atmosphere. Sample bottom, middle, top third of space. Sample
in this order; oxygen, flammables, toxics. Use continous monitoring.
Daily pre-entry sampling required.

rather than lifting.

Do not mix ammonia and bleach or use together in any combination .
Check the Material Safety Data Sheet for cleaning chemical
incompatibilities and substitute safer chemicals.
Use commercially prepared 5-1/4 % household bleach diluted 1 cup to 1
gallon of water for cleaning the interior of water reservoirs.
Use continous forced air ventilation and if possible maintain 2 tank
openings.
No flammable or combustible cleaning chemicals allowed in a confined
space.
Second person required outside of space at all times while occupied.
Positive communications established and maintained with entrant and
local FS office or other source of emergency response.
Second person is prohibited from entry even for rescue.
Immediately evacuate the space if monitor alarm signals a change in
atmosphere conditions or other changes occur.
