USD2935 Pall Micro-24 Gas Micro Mixer Precision control of oxygen and carbon dioxide for micro-scale cell culture The Pall Micro-24 Gas Micro Mixer accessory creates additional gas regime control capability at the microbioreactor scale, increasing the precision of control of CO2 exposure for sensitive mammalian cell culture applications. A very simple touch screen interface controls the mixing of up to three control gases - Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and Nitrogen/ Normal Air - with precision low-volume thermal mass flow controllers (Figure 2). The user can access pre-set standard configurations, or quickly and easily create and store custom mixes of 2 or 3 gases. The device supports very precise pH and dissolved oxygen control while maintaining optimal CO2 concentrations in culture, stripping excess CO2 and maintaining minimal CO2 (Figure 3). Features and Benefits Features Benefits Easily mixes standard laboratory gases (O2, CO2, N2 or Air) Eliminates acquisition and handling of mixed gas cylinders, simplifies operations Allows optimization of gas control strategies Reduces evaporation, process instability, and culture variability More precise control of monitored (pH) and unmonitored (CO2) process parameters Prevents in process CO2 excursions • Excess CO2 is stripped • Minimal CO2 is maintained Touch screen control interface Easily create, edit, and store gas mixes, rapidly access “standard” and saved gas mixes Compact design Laboratory bench, either behind Pall Micro-24 Microreactor or beside Pall Micro-24 Microreactor. (Stand supplied to add height for use behind Pall Micro-24 Microreactor) LED strip under lid Illuminating strip under the lid showing operating state which can be seen from distance Automatic purge Performs a purge on all the gas lines for a set period of time before use Status messages display on screen Status messages are displayed on screen during operation to update the user. (Refer to manual for descriptions) Figure 2. Touch Screen Control Interface Figure 3. Gas Micro Mixer maintains optimal CO2 during culture Touch Screen set to provide 3 separate gas mixes: pH control mix with 50% N2 and 50% CO2, Purge mix of 5% CO2 and 95% N2 , and Dissolved Oxygen Control mix with 21% O2 , 5% CO2 , and 74% N2 Gas mixtures maintain optimal Carbon Dioxide levels with minimal impact to feedback control of Dissolved Oxygen and pH during culture. 2 Specifications Gas Line Schematic Diagram Power 110-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz self-switching Input Gas Supply Analytical Grade Oxygen, CO2, and N2 /Air Max input pressure 8.27 bar/120 psi Connections: 6mm Push-to-Connect Note: The inlet pressure must be at least 750 mbar (10.9 psi) higher than the required output pressure Mixed Gas Outputs pH: 0.25 – 25 sccm Purge/ Inert: 0.1-10 sccm CO2 and 0.25-25 sccm N2 / Air DO: 0.1-10 sccm CO2 + O2 and 0.25-25 sccm N2 /Air Connections: 6 mm Push-to-Connect Accuracy set points Set point 0 – 10% Set point 10 – 50% Set point 50 – 100% Gas Flow Accuracy and Stability Environmental Requirements Accuracy +/- 1.0% Accuracy +/- 1.0% Accuracy +/- 1.0% Stability once gas mix has been set Set point 0 – 10% Stability +/- 0.5% Set point 10 – 50% Stability +/- 0.5% Set point 50 – 100% Stability +/- 0.5% Stability achieved within 30 seconds Operating Range +5°C to +40°C Altitudes up to 2,000 m (6,500 ft) Maximum relative humidity of 80% for temperatures up to +31°C, decreasing to 50% at +40°C, with no condensation www.pall.com 3 Compliance EMC Directive 2004/108/EC Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment 2002/96/EC Reduction of Hazardous Substances 2002/95/EC Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control and laboratory use - Part 1: General Requirements BS EN 61010-1: 2001 Electrical Equipment For Measurement, Control and Laboratory Use - EMC Requirements - Part 1: General Requirements BS EN 61326-1: 2006 Specification for Degrees of Protection provided by Enclosures (IP Code) BS EN 60529: 2000 Ordering Information Description Part Number Pall Micro-24 Gas Micro Mixer MRT-GMM-1 Visit us on the Web at www.pall.com/biopharm E-mail us at bioreactors@pall.com Corporate Headquarters Port Washington, NY, USA +1.800.717.7255 toll free (USA) +1.516.484.5400 phone biopharm@pall.com e-mail European Headquarters Fribourg, Switzerland +41 (0)26 350 53 00 phone LifeSciences.EU@pall.com e-mail Asia-Pacific Headquarters Singapore +65 6389 6500 phone sgcustomerservice@pall.com e-mail International Offices Pall Corporation has offices and plants throughout the world in locations such as: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Venezuela.
