Biographical Note
David A. Schoen is a Professor Emeritus of Ball State University. Over the course of his 30 years of
teaching, Schoen specialized in Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture and eventually became
Acting Chair of the Department of Urban Planning. He is also known for having created a geographic
information system (GIS) that mapped Shelbyville and surrounding Shelby County. Schoen retired from
Ball State University at the end of the Spring 2010 Semester.
This collection comes from Profressor David A. Schoen's grandmother, who specialized in playing piano
and the organ.
Scope and Contents
This collection includes sheet music received from Professor David Schoen from Muncie, Indiana ranging
from 1863-1947 including English minstrel books, popular songs, sacred songs, and training books.
