INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACCESSING WIUP ON THE WEB

To access the WIUP on the Web, follow the instructions below:
1. Initiate a web browser session and go to the WIU homepage (www.wiu.edu).
2. Select WIUP from the Web Tools dropdown.

3. You should see the following:
4. Click on “Launch WIUP in a new window”
Or on “WIUP” in the upper right corner.

5. You should see the Access Agreement page.
6. Read the agreement.
7. If you agree to the terms, click the Yes, I agree button.

8. Next, the WIUP Production Signon page will appear.
9. Enter your Userid and Password and
10. Click the Signon button. (If this is the first time you’ve ever signed onto WIUP and you
don’t have or know your userid or password contact Human Resources at 298-1971. If
this is not your first time signing on and you have forgotten your userid or password,
contract the University Technology Support Center at 298-2704.).

11. You should now see the News page.
12. Click ENTER to continue reading NEWS -- or -- Click on MENU (below the Western
Illinois University header) to select an application.

Some of the applications you may select from the MENU include:
Human Resources/Payroll >Individual >
EMPI: Employee Time Reporting
This option allows you to view your personnel and payroll information,
including:
Personnel Information: General information such as your legal address,
social security number, and WIU id number, are among the items shown.
Current Contractual Information: This screen contains all of the
information regarding your current position. In addition, it contains
historical contractual information from the past five years.
Sick and Vacation Benefit Information: Information relating to your sick
and vacation time is located on this screen.
Paycheck Information: Your most current pay-stub, or depending upon how
close you are to pay day, your next pay-stub. There is a second page,
reached by using the F6 (more detail) key, which displays how your
paycheck was calculated with regard to regular time worked, sick, and
vacation time. Historical information is maintained which can be reached
using the F7 and F8 (forward and backward) keys.
Insurance Benefits: Detailed information on the insurance you have
selected.
Legal Address and Tax/FICA/SURS Status: Your legal address and
information completed for tax withholding is shown in addition to the
FICA percent withheld, the percentage of SURS (State University
Retirement System) withheld, and years of service under SURS as of
stated date.
Check Distribution and Non-Cash Gross Adjustments: The name of the
bank and the bank account number to which your paycheck is being direct
deposited.
List of Current Deductions: Authorized deductions from your paycheck
(except taxes, FICA, SURS, and percentage deductions) and the dollar
amount deducted from each pay period.
Current Year-To-Date Balances: WIU year-to-date earnings and taxes paid.
W2 Wage and Tax Information: Your W2 information for all completed
tax years. Past years are kept and can be viewed by pressing the F7 key.
Tax Sheltered Annuity Information: If you are contributing to an optional
TSA, this provides additional information.

Savings Bond Information: If savings bonds are withheld from your pay,
detailed information is shown.
Miscellaneous Income Information: If you have received miscellaneous
incomes, such as employee awards or cell phone stipends, descriptions and
amounts are shown.
Degree or Educational Level Information: For faculty and administrators,
degree(s) and the year(s) they were received can be seen.
TIME: Time Reporting
This option allows you to report time worked.
CONF: Time Confirmation
This option allows you to confirm your timecard.
Universal Access >
ACAL: Academic Calendar Display
This option brings up the Academic Calendar with information such as dates
for withdrawing from classes and semester test finals dates.
ALRT: Emergency Alert Contact
This option is used to update your emergency information. The contact
information you provide to the WIU Emergency Alert System will be used for
emergency purposes only.
EMID: Employee Directory
This is the Employee Campus Directory. You can type in an employee’s
name and it will bring up their office location and phone number.
PIDU: Personal ID Update
This option brings up your personal identification information and allows you
to change or print the information using the printer icon at the top of your
screen.
POPT: Print Option Selection
This option allows you to specify your default print option values.

13. To sign off of WIUP on the WEB, click SignOff in the upper right corner of any WIUP
on the WEB application.
14. The following screen will appear.
15. Click the Close button to close the window.

Passwords must be changed every 120 days. You will receive a warning message and this allows you to
change your password prior to the 120-day limit. If the 120 days is exceeded, you will need to call the
University Technology Support Center at 298-2704 to have your password reset.
If your password becomes inactivated, call the University Technology Support Center at 298-2704 to
have your password reset.
