ONU and The Washington Center Ohio Northern has a strong relationship with The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC). We have partnered with TWC for nearly two decades. ONU faculty have served on the National Liaison Advisory Board for a number of years. Under the leadership of their current President, Michael Smith (an ONU/HIST alum) TWC has witnessed exponential growth. This is especially true in regard to TWC’s procurement of outside funding. They received three separate $1 million gifts in 2007. This helped them establish a new headquarters as well as build a new residential facility to house their future interns. Over twenty ONU students have attended the Democratic and Republican National Convention programs in the past two election cycles. Students from virtually any major are able to participate in TWC programming. For instance, over 15 majors and 3 colleges (A&S, Pharmacy, and Business) have had participants in TWC programming from ONU. Our students have enjoyed high-profile placements and real world experience that has helped them in their post-graduate lives.
