Who Should Attend
This conference is designed for neurologists, neurosurgeons and other physicians and health care providers interested in seizure and epilepsy, including
diagnosis and therapy.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to link the
educational objectives to Core Competencies and:
n Understand the issues related to the weaning of anti-epileptic
medications
n Recognize the difference between temporal and extra temporal epilepsy
n Be informed regarding technological advances in the treatment of epilepsy
n Understand the relationships between dysplasia and epilepsy
Accreditation
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing
medical education for physicians.
Credit Designation
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center designates this
educational activity for a maximum of 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their
participation in the activity.

9:30 am Epilepsy and Cortical Dysplasia
Because this course is meant to educate physicians with what is currently in use
and what may be available in the future, there may be “off-label” use
discussed in the presentations. Speakers have been requested to inform the audience when off-label use is discussed.
