Minister of Music and Ministry Summer Internship
First Baptist Church of Dover
Principle Function:
The Minister of Music Intern is responsible for assisting the Worship Team in the organization and
oversight of the music ministry needs of First Baptist Church of Dover.
Qualifications:
1. A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, a servant’s heart, and a vital growing personal
relationship with Him.
2. Experience with vocalists, ensembles, choirs, and instrumentalists, to include praise and
worship teams.
3. Ability to seek out relevant music and worship resources and apply them appropriately
to the context of corporate worship.
4. Acceptable personal vocal skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading worship.
5. Ability to assist and troubleshoot various technologies in worship, to include
sound, lighting, computer hardware, computer software, and video projection.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist with planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating the comprehensive music
ministries, rehearsals, instrumentalists, and worship services.
2. Coordinate weekly worship services with the pastor and staff and lead all music related
aspects of all Sunday services along with other scheduled services and rehearsals.
3. Assist with making arrangements for and approve featured soloists, instrumentalists, and
groups for worship services.
4. If qualified, work with the church staff to develop videos, graphics, and other media to be used
as sermon illustrations, worship enhancements, and promotional tools.
5. Aid the other pastoral staff with general pastoral activities, such as service planning, outreach
visits, hospital visits, and funerals.
6. Coordinate office hours with Minister of Administration and Outreach and Senior Pastor.
7. Attend weekly ministerial staff meetings.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation:
$350.00 a week (40 hours) for up to ten weeks. Housing provided.
